Truth and Peace: Finding the Maker Today

What is truth? That is a question that Pilate asked Jesus. Wow! That is amazing – he asked The Truth what Truth is. The answer was standing in front of him. But in a way he did not see the one who was the way, the truth, and the life, just as he was about to sentence this innocent man to death.

Today, people still talk about Truth, and as then, there is disagreement what it really means. The answer is a person. In his light we see light. ^1

When he opens our eyes, we see the Maker of our eyes, the Sun of Righteousness. And because of his life, we truly live. He leads us to walk in his ways and then, to see him face to face – not as the man with a crown of thorns and a death to die, but as the man who was the death of death – as the ascended Lord with whom we will reign if we suffer with him. And he is God.

C.S. Lewis once said something like, if you start out looking for peace and ignore truth, you will in the end have neither peace nor truth, but if you seek truth you will find both. Christ is our peace AND the truth – and he said that if we seek him with all our heart, we will find him.^2
